Bauernbrot

A German farmers mix of heart healthy high fibre flours make this loaf. Translated this is literally “grey bread” Organic and home milled on stone; dark rye with some organic white blended through, traditional German style, it takes me back to my youth and “Abendbrot” (evening bread, which included cheeses, cold meats, salad, pickles, black tea, eggs, and general conversation where one talks about the day.) This is a large loaf, with some caraway seeds to give the authentic north German taste, weighing in at at least 940g pre bake, it is crusty and keeps well.

    50% organic home stone ground dark RYE flour, 50% organic WHEAT flour (calcium, iron, niacin, thiamin), caraway seeds, sea salt
